The Principles of HidingCamouflage Net: Originally intended for military use with regard to sight protection, the broad-meshed net is designed to be thrown over various objects or an arbitrary area in the room. If guests arrive unexpectedly, the net can be thrown to hide disorder, quickly rendering it invisible. The fabric is formed to tubes around ropes, which can be smocked/gathered. These strings of tube chains and the smocking give the net a certain physicality.Ballistic Blanket: The tear, bite, cut and shock resistant blanket transfers the idea of making security a basic desire of society to the living room. For that the inner lining of the blanket is a cut resistant fabric, made out of a combination of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and other technical fibres. The offender won’t recognize the blanket as a protection tool – on the other side the user gets the impression of lying under a conventional blanket due to the wool fabric.

Body BuddiesBody Buddies is a human body inspired ceramic vases edition for a hospital’s percent for art program. The vases can be used by all patients and visitors and taken to the rooms. Body Buddies questions the idea of a representive work of art and let the user emotionally experience it in a new way. Each vase is a handcrafted one-of-a-kind, illustrating the beauty of the variance of our bodies.

New FolderNew Folder is a Mac OS inspired carpet. It adapts the folder as omnipresent symbol of our working environment. The living room as desktop. It surprises and confuses by materiality and dimension. Thus New Folder acts not only as manifestation of our information society, he urges at the same time the steadily moving commensurability of work and private. In his function as a rest area, New Folder forms a counterpole for this development.

As High As BestA stainless steel tube bent into an angled U shape, powder coated in asbest-black, with a cable through it, As High As Best adapts the custom of improvised seating in a public space to form a precise and dynamic shape. Considering the regulations for materials and structures in locations where people stay temporarily (bus stops, playgrounds, train stations), the swing design switches the relationship between function and standard. As High As Best is part of our Kiossk project.

TWOTWO is a table. Circle and square, two primary shapes, are bent in a 90° angle across their symmetry axes and positioned on top of each other. The arrangement of the known seems both time-tested and new. The square basis provides stability. The circle hides and builds the tabletop. Units in several colors allow for modular variation. The combination of two make for a flat circular tabletop.

KiosskKiossk adopts the concept of the temporary alternative space: an art venue in a (typically disused) urban location that offers new possibilities for art and culture. But the stage on which Kiossk's experiments are presented is not the inside of the building, but rather the black-painted sculptural form of its architecture. Its exterior surfaces constitute a changeable display for exhibitions, installations, and events, calling the very function of exhibition spaces into question. Its position between industrial and red-light districts turns it into a mediator. The exterior space is defined by 16 swings (As High As Best) that are affixed to the edges of the building's roof, presenting an opportunity to stay and play a while. Inside, visitors are greeted by shelves stocked like those of a conventional newsstand – with the difference that the standard offerings have been infiltrated by design products.
A new kiosk will be opened in spring 2017
STHLSTHL is the minimal chair. Two wooden sticks and rubber. STHL reduces sitting to a minimum without neglecting its function, both in regard to its design and handling. It provides comfortable support to relieve the leg muscles, for example during lectures or exhibitions, while still requiring a certain amount of movement. Due to its lightness STHL is highly mobile.

Garten der ReligionenAs part of the festivities surrounding Karlsruhe's 300 year anniversary, the "Garten der Religionen" (Garden of Religions) was opened on November 24th, 2015. We designed 30 lasercut corten-steel plates reproducing quotes from five world religions which structure the garden's architecture. This project was carried out in cooperation with Helleckes Landschaftsarchitektur.
